Greek mythology

A nymph is a fairy without wings. What can a fairy without wings do? This particular one likes to talk. Echo nymph is just a tiny little creature who sings all day and likes to gossip a lot. She wouldn't shut up. So the Gods condemned her to repeat what everyone says instead. She wasn't able to formulate her own senteces anymore and since repeating what she heard was causing problems around town she got what she wanted and that is the greek's explanation to what we know as echo. Greek myths are explanations to everything. They don't always make sense but they're amusing. After all, it's just a myth.
